Organically Orange

Sometime last year I found a log hidden in the  tussock grass in a wild corner of my yard.   Bright orange fungi protruded from the rotting wood.    I pulled the log out and used it to edge a path.   Since then the fungi has grown – and grown – and grown with enthusiastic abundance.

The bright orange colour really pops on grey winter days.
